The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

Summary-Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them.

Review-

I thought this book was great! It was a heartwarming story about love, friendships, and family.I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good book.

Ronnie Miller is not a bad person. She has shop-lifted once, but realized she was wrong. She stays at late a clubs, but doesn't drink or do drugs. Everything about her is dark...but her soul. She acts very angrily at her dad, until she meets Will, a charming, "southern" boy. They take walks on the beach, go fishing, and visit the aquarium, where Will volunteers. Her summer is getting better and better. That is until secrets and lies are revealed.

When Ronnie meets Marcus and Blaze, things go towards the worst. Blaze puts unpurchased items in Ronnie's bag and Marcus has something against Will. After seeing the movie and reading the book, I did not like Marcus one bit. He was a very nasty, self-centered character. Blaze was okay though, she wasn't horrible. She did some bad things though.

Personally, I thought the book was very memorable, but there certain parts that were a bit boring. Usually the chapters Ronnie's dad, Steve narrated, were boring, because he talked about his life a lot, nothing else. Its not like I had no appreciation for his character, it was just somewhat boring. All in all, it was a great book.

I liked the book, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks a lot. It had a wonderful lesson, and it was a very well-written, touching story. I loved it, and I'm sure you will too.

Grade-A
